Holy Eucharist
“He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him” (John 6:56). The sacrament of Holy Communion is the centre of the Catholic faith. Jesus himself, in the form of bread and wine, is present in the Eucharist, remaining with us until the end of time – He who gave himself up at the Last Supper and died on the Cross.
The Sacrament of the Eucharist is commonly referred to as Holy Communion or Communion. The Eucharist is one of the three Sacraments of Initiation into full membership of the Catholic Church, the other two sacraments being Baptism and Confirmation. We celebrate the Eucharist whenever we attend Mass.
